Landscape Crew Leader – Full Time

Hourly Rate: $23-$30 plus 1.5x overtime pay

Benefits: 3% matched simple IRA, medical & dental insurance, long-term disability, and paid sick, vacation & holiday time. 

As a crew leader, you will be responsible for managing and working with a 3-5 person crew on general landscape projects, planting installations, and detail-oriented maintenance projects. 

5+ years of experience is preferred for this position. 

Experience operating trucks with trailers along with general landscaping equipment is needed.

A landscape crew leader should have good communication and interpersonal skills. 

While an expert horticultural knowledge is preferred, Walter’s Nursery offers continuing education in the horticulture field to improve plant knowledge. 

Other Requirements:

–  Valid drivers license and a clean driving record; reliable transportation to work.

–  Ability to operate general landscape equipment and tools.

–  Ability to physically lift 50lbs. 

 A Day at Walter’s Nursery:

7:30a – Start of workday – Meet in our production office to receive that day’s instruction, crew details, etc. 

7:30-8:00a – Depart to jobsite with your crew, tools, and materials, in a company vehicle. You will not be asked to use your own vehicle during the work day.

8:00a-12:00p – Working on the jobsite.

12:00p-12:30p – Lunchtime.

12:30p-4:00p – Working on the jobsite.

4:00p-4:30p – Depart the jobsite and return to the nursery to unload tools, materials, etc. if necessary.
